“…please accept our thanks for the splendid work that you and your colleagues did. It really is first class. We are very grateful for the speed as well as the quality…”

– Lord Hattersley

“Bench Architects have worked with Brocklehurst on a number of projects over a period of several years, predominantly involving joinery works to Listed and historic buildings. These have included extensive repairs to historic doors – in some cases dating back to the 16th century – and traditional box sash windows, all carried out to the highest conservation standards. Works of this nature are rarely straightforward, and demand a knowledgeable and experienced contractor who can apply a problem-solving approach to the numerous challenges presented. Brocklehurst have proved themselves ably in this regard.

We have been particularly impressed with the skill and diligence demonstrated by every one of Duncan’s team with whom we have worked, and have always found them courteous and helpful.

We have found Brocklehurst’s work to be of the highest quality. We have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending the company to prospective clients and contractors, and we look forward to continuing our working relationship with him and his team.”

Adam Bench – RIBA AABC, Director, Bench Architects

“I have worked with Duncan on the total rebuild and refurbishment of an old Vicarage on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire border. The building is a Grade 2* property in the Sheen Conservation district. The scale and complexity of the project was large and lasted a few years from start to finish. It involved major internal renovation, re-roofing, re-wiring, re-plumbing, plastering and joinery work. A highly sophisticated security system was also installed. Duncan initially acted for me on joinery and carpentry projects, with every window in the building being custom-made replacement or scheduled for heavy duty repairs. But his level of knowledge quickly convinced me I could trust him to become the General Contractor, which he became. Dealing with English Heritage and their local planning delegates was “interesting” to say the least, but with Duncan’s help we were almost always able to get a reasonable and cost effective solution.

I have found Duncan and his staff to be skilled, honest and hardworking. I have never had a single cause for complaint and Duncan always appeared to treat this project as his own house as well as to use my money wisely. In my job I am very used to dealing with sophisticated contractors and suppliers and he is among the best I’ve seen. I would wholeheartedly recommend Duncan and his staff to the most demanding and discerning of clients on renovation, rebuilding and even new construction. I have greatly appreciated everything he has done for me on this job and I would unhesitatingly use him on my next job.”

– George W. Buckley, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer – 3M Company

“…Brocklehurst Property Maintenance Ltd. have been working on historic and Listed building projects under our direction over the last two years. The quality of their workmanship and conservation repair techniques are of the highest standard. Duncan’s personal involvement in every project and his appreciation of historic joinery and understanding of contemporary needs prove very helpful when devising new or complicated detailing. Their prices reflect the specialist nature of the work involved but remain competitive and fair. Duncan and his team are conscientious, polite and courteous workers and a pleasure to work with.”

“I am absolutely delighted with the standard of work and service from Brocklehursts. We have just (July 2016) had our external wooden windowsills repaired and repainted. A team of men were very polite, punctual and extremely diligent. They have taken time to complete the work to a very high standard and as well as being industrious workwise, they have also cleaned up after themselves too. I would highly recommend Brocklehursts from the initial point of contact through the works to the finished of the job.”
